I have had very bad shopping experiences at Nyla. The owner of the store is very aggressive, rude and belittles customers. I was shocked and scared when the Owner was angry and began yelling in the shop. I wanted to run out of the shop immediately! Nyla is not a customer-focused business. The staff also make the environment very uncomfortable for customers. I strongly suggest, Customer Service Training for the owner and his staff as well as establishing better business ethics.
I was shocked when the Owner of Nyla began to scream and shout when he heard that Island Beat Beauty Supplies another competitor carried the "Queen Jazzy" hair collection. He was threatening to contact Island Beat and shouted that only his store carries this particular product. I was surprised that the Owner would get angry over useless things which should not bother him. I use to buy Queen Jazzy hair products from Island Beat all the time! Nyla is NOT the only shop in Calgary that carries the product. Customers, staff and myself were nervous and felt uncomfortable with the Owners temper.
The reason why I shopped at Nyla was because it was close to my home. I will be returning back to Island Beat Beauty Supplies even though it is 45 minutes away from my place. It is worth it! One thing I appreciate about Island Beat is that the Owner Stuch always puts his customers first. Island Beat has been in Calgary for over 20 years and continues to support the community as well.
After I shared my negative shopping experience at Nyla on my Facebook page. A Senior Staff Representative, Mimi Kapinga who works at Nyla began to harass me and my friends on MY Facebook wall. She was unprofessional and did not know how to conduct herself as a representative of a business establishment. Mimi's negative behavior and comments shows an example of what I had to deal with at her shop. The Owner and staff at Nyla are not open and do not handle honest feedback well. They need to learn to respect and put customers first. I wish them all the best because I will be taking my money elsewhere. Please read Mimi Kapinga's messages below:
